[Kathmandu] It has been more than a month since Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane was asked questions from Parliament to the streets. When Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal made him Home Minister when he was involved in the cooperative fraud case, not only did the investigation against him stop, but the state machinery was misused in his defense. Prime Minister Prachanda is cleaning himself.

Even though a written complaint was filed with the police and it was clear that 10 million money was transferred from Suryadarshan Cooperative to Lamichhane's account, the study committee formed by Pokhara metropolis did not investigate Ravi. If they were civilians, the police would first detain them, and then listen to them. However, who should investigate the Home Minister? That is why the main opposition Nepali Congress has been demanding the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee. The government has not put a tail.

Instead, the government has ended the session itself to hide the investigation. Speaker Devraj Ghimire has already informed the Parliament that the winter session of the Federal Parliament will end at 12:00 pm on Sunday. After the decision to end the current session of the Federal Parliament in an unexpected and untimely manner even though there was enough time for the budget session, Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has given a strong warning.

In the meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party on Sunday, Deuba concluded that the government ended the winter session of the Parliament to hide the pressure of forming a parliamentary inquiry committee on cooperative fraud.

Deuba said in the meeting, "The demand we have raised is not about the party of Nepali Congress, but about the embezzlement of billions of savings of millions of cooperative victims." The government has decided to shut down the parliament itself as it has been demanded to bring out the real content of such a serious matter by forming a parliamentary investigation committee. What this confirms is that the government is not in favor of cooperative victims, is not in favor of good governance and is presented irresponsibly. However, the Congress should stand firm in favor of good governance and continue to raise its voice”
